Adjunct Instructor, Construction Management

Wake Technical Community College is seeking to expand our pool of part‑time faculty to teach Construction Management classes. Openings for these positions may or may not be available at this time; however, after a review of qualifications, applicants may be contacted in the future. Adjunct faculty positions provide quality, effective instruction in assigned courses on a part‑time, temporary basis. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform the essential job functions satisfactorily. Responsibilities Instruct and guide the class in an efficient and effective manner Maintain accurate records of student work and attendance Prepare thoroughly for each instructional hour Maintain a safe and orderly learning environment Grade and return student work in a timely manner Counsel students regarding their grades and progress in the course Construct classroom materials that support the goals of the course Design curriculum and a schedule of instruction Stay abreast of the most current teaching methods and technology in the classroom Use assessment techniques to improve learning and teaching Assist with establishing goals and objectives for the course, selecting text and constructing a syllabus Maintain communication with instructors from other divisions in order to keep courses up‑to‑date and appropriate Attend professional development opportunities when possible Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Proficient with MS Office products including MS Word and Excel Ability to use a wide variety of teaching methods to promote learning Innovative, creative, motivated Ability to exhibit good interpersonal skills and work well with others Ability to maintain records accurately and consistently meet deadlines Good organizational skills Ability to perform normal duties with minimal supervision Excellent communication skills both written and verbal Demonstrates resourcefulness, initiative, enthusiasm, and a sincere interest in helping students reach their maximum potential Requirements Unofficial transcripts must be attached with your online application prior to submission or submitted to Human Resources immediately upon completing the application. Bachelor of Science in Construction Management or related field Two years of relevant experience in construction management or five years of relevant experience in industry construction Computer skills using basic functions of MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, and MS Outlook Preferences Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or other related field One year of teaching experience in Construction Management in a post‑secondary school Current industry‑recognized certification within the field of construction management (e.g., Certified Construction Manager, OSHA, etc.) Experience with distance learning and/or alternate instructional delivery systems Essential Personnel TBD #J-18808-Ljbffr Wake Technical Community College
