Level 1 Customer Service Representative Mid‑Hudson Fiber is looking for a Level 1 Customer Service Representative who can handle sales, billing, and troubleshooting calls. Must be able to work varying 8‑hour shifts from 8 am – 8 pm, Monday through Saturday. Handle inbound customer requests via phone, chat portal, and email. Respond to inbound calls promptly and efficiently. Discuss Mid‑Hudson products and services to prospective customers. Process payments for customers via check, credit card or electronic funds. Acquire knowledge of competitors’ pricing, packaging and products and provide side‑by‑side comparisons. Promote and communicate current promotions. Learn billing/order processing systems for order entry, inquiries, and billing review. Accurately document customer account records based on actions taken. Maintain a high level of customer satisfaction, professionalism and courtesy. Basic ability to troubleshoot customer service and billing issues. Facilitate customer issue escalations to management/support as required. Participate in quality education sessions to ensure efficient interactions. Complete Excel‑based projects assigned by supervisors and managers. Adhere to scheduled work times, nights, weekends, and overtime as necessary. Keep supervisors informed of work‑related concerns. Collaborate with other team members and take direction from managers and supervisors. Perform other duties as required by managers and supervisors. Must work varying 8‑hour shifts from 8 am – 8 pm, Monday through Saturday. Install, prep and splice fiber optic cabling in any environment. Splice fiber optic cables, including loose‑tube and ribbon varieties. Operate technical equipment such as laptop computers, OTDR, power meters/OLTS and fusion splicing tools. Read and interpret fiber records, maps and splice diagrams. Complete daily production reports and track materials. Construct proper splice cases with grounding, bonding, isolation, slack storage, sealing and hanging. Troubleshoot and resolve on‑site problems. Follow design engineer instructions. Work aloft from a bucket truck or ladder. Wear personal protective equipment (PPE) including hard hat, reflective shirts, vests, boots, and safety goggles. Maintain a safe working environment for self and team. Travel as needed for assigned projects. Perform other tasks as assigned. Regularly lift and/or move up to 100 lbs. Work in rural or congested traffic areas. Work outdoors in all weather conditions. Work independently with minimal supervision. Operate safely. Operate hand tools and basic computer equipment. Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record. 2+ years of fiber splicing experience. High school diploma or GED. Job Type: Full‑time Salary: $21 – $22 per hour 401(k) Health insurance Paid time off Vision insurance Level 1 Installation/Cable Technician Mid‑Hudson Fiber is hiring a Level 1 Installation/Cable Technician to maintain customer installations, perform cable climbs, and assist in network deployments. Must work varying 8‑hour shifts from 8 am – 8 pm, Monday through Saturday. Maintain a clean driver’s license and operate company vehicles safely. Climb on all types of roofing materials and angles. Crawl in spaces and attics. Perform prolonged bending, twisting, standing, and reaching. Read, write, and speak English to communicate with customers, suppliers and co‑workers. Use hand tools such as drills, hammers, wrenches, and screwdrivers. Walk over all terrains, weather or terrain while carrying tools and equipment. Use weighted safety harnesses and ladders within specified limits. Measure distances accurately with tapes or other devices. Operate extension ladders up to 32 ft high and 90 lb. Differentiates wire sizes and colors. Make cable connections in tight spaces by bending, reaching, or twisting. Work at high places such as poles and roofs. Stand 50 – 70 % of the time. Handle small components and wires for cable connections. Install Ethernet and telephony wires and connectors. Use handheld communication devices and applications. Travel to/from assigned territories and company facilities, even in inclement weather. Work outdoors for extended periods regardless of seasons or weather. Familiar with computer operating systems, PDAs, smartphones, routers, modems, converters and wireless devices. Maintain a high level of customer satisfaction, professionalism and courtesy. Diagnose and troubleshoot basic service issues. Address customer questions, complaints and concerns. Escalate customer issues to management/support as necessary. Collaborate with other departments to resolve issues. Participate in quality education sessions to improve customer interactions. Complete accurate documentation of daily work and actions taken. Inform supervisors/managers of work‑related concerns. Work collaboratively with team members and follow managerial direction. Perform any other duties assigned.
