Business Analyst – Process & Requirements

Overview / Summary

An organization is undertaking a modernization initiative to improve district-level financial data intake and reporting processes. The initiative involves implementing a customized data management platform designed to enhance usability, security, auditability, and reporting while aligning with existing operational workflows. The Business Analyst will support requirements definition, process analysis, and validation activities across the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

• Define and document business functions, processes, and operational workflows
• Analyze how business functions integrate with technology solutions
• Consult with stakeholders to identify, define, and document business needs, objectives, and current processes
• Document input/output requirements, operational problems, and workflow gaps
• Assist in business case development and business process reengineering activities
• Recommend process improvements to improve operational efficiency
• Develop or support project work plans and timelines
• Support software testing and validate adherence to acceptance criteria
• Translate business requirements into functional and technical specifications
• Support user story development and test case creation
• Perform data analysis, workflow mapping, and process improvement activities

Required Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in:
• Business process analysis, requirements gathering, and documentation
• Facilitating stakeholder meetings to define project scope and objectives
• Translating business needs into functional and technical specifications
• Data analysis, workflow mapping, and process improvement
• Supporting software development teams with user stories, acceptance criteria, and test cases
• Working knowledge of accounting, procurement, finance, or contract management
• Experience supporting software testing and validation activities
