Inland Counties Legal Services (ICLS) is seeking a Community Education Facilitator to join its Pro Bono Team. This role will lead community outreach and engagement for ICLS's Disaster Preparation & Response Program, which aims to help individuals and community partners throughout Inland Southern California prepare for, respond to, and recover from disasters, including wildfires, floods, earthquakes, and other natural or human-caused emergencies.
ICLS is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization providing free legal services to people of limited means residing in Riverside and San Bernardino counties. ICLS targets services for seniors and those in the greatest social and economic need. ICLS provides legal assistance in eight practice groups: Elder, Family Law, Consumer, Housing, Immigration, Systemic & Impact Litigation, Health Law, and Public Benefits & Education; and a Pro Bono Program, operating volunteer-enhanced client programs, including Small Business & Nonprofit, Expungement, LGBTQ+ Services, HIV Services, Guardianship, Disaster Preparation & Response, and Student Programs, among others. Overview of Position & Responsibilities: The Community Education Facilitator is responsible for building ICLS's disaster preparedness presence in the community across Riverside and San Bernardino counties. The role delivers general disaster preparedness, response, and recovery education with a legal readiness component; represents ICLS with emergency management and nonprofit partners; produces printed and digital outreach materials; and tracks and reports grant deliverables for ICLS and its partner organizations.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
- Community engagements: Deliver disaster preparedness, response, and recovery presentations to community groups across Riverside and San Bernardino counties, incorporating legal readiness topics appropriate to each phase. Coordinate with emergency management and nonprofit partners to co-present where possible.
- VOAD engagements: Attend Riverside and San Bernardino Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster (VOAD) meetings and build referral relationships with member organizations.
- Community resource fairs: Represent ICLS at community fairs and maintain an inventory of disaster preparedness materials in English and Spanish.
- Digital engagements: Develop and maintain disaster preparedness content for the ICLS and Disaster Legal Assistance Collaborative (DLAC) websites, newsletter, and social media.
- Deliverables tracking and reporting: Track engagements and materials in the program's deliverables tracker, gather data from partner organizations, and prepare quarterly grant reports.
- Four (4) year college degree or equivalent experience in community outreach, emergency management, communications, or a related field.
- 1-2 years of experience in community outreach, public education, emergency management, or nonprofit program coordination preferred.
- Familiarity with disaster preparedness education, VOAD, or emergency management partnerships preferred.
- Experience developing presentations, printed materials, and digital content (website, newsletter, social media).
- Experience tracking program data and preparing reports for grants; Excel proficiency required.
- Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills; comfort speaking to community audiences.
- Ability to collaborate with government agencies, nonprofits, and volunteer attorneys.
- Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint proficiency.
- Demonstrated experience working with individuals from diverse communities.
- Ability to learn quickly, take initiative, and work independently.
- Language: Ability to read, write, and communicate in English; Spanish strongly preferred.
- Reliable transportation and ability to travel throughout ICLS's service area for in-person events, including some outside regular work hours.
