Our client is seeking a senior-level software architecture leader to help shape the technology foundation behind complex, business-critical supply chain capabilities. The ideal candidate combines deep software engineering expertise with the ability to bring teams together, challenge conventional approaches, and translate a long-term technical vision into practical execution.

The ideal candidate has a strong software engineering foundation with meaningful ownership of architecture and system design. Current Staff, Principal, or Lead Engineers who have operated as technical architecture leaders are encouraged to apply; a formal Architect title is not required.

Focus:

• Establish architectural direction for custom software capabilities supporting complex supply chain operations, emphasizing scalability, resilience, and long-term adaptability.
• Develop modernization strategies that connect technology investments with evolving operational priorities and long-term business goals.
• Guide architecture across applications, services, integrations, data flows, and cloud infrastructure while identifying opportunities to simplify and decouple the technology ecosystem.
• Partner closely with product and engineering leaders to translate complex or ambiguous business needs into technical vision, architecture decisions, and executable roadmaps across multiple teams and platforms.
• Evaluate architecture alternatives, clearly communicating technical tradeoffs, risks, and recommendations to engineering teams and senior decision-makers.
• Identify cross-platform technology risks and champion architecture approaches that strengthen reliability, maintainability, and operational performance.
• Advance engineering capabilities through technical mentorship, knowledge sharing, and evaluation of emerging technologies and modern software delivery practices.

Skill Set:

• 10+ years of software engineering experience with demonstrated ownership of architecture and system design for large-scale, complex software environments.
• Deep expertise in distributed systems and modern cloud architecture, including microservices, event-driven designs, APIs, containers/Kubernetes, and cloud platforms such as AWS.
• Strong software engineering depth and the ability to work closely with engineering teams on application design, APIs, CI/CD, containers, and modern software delivery practices.
• Demonstrated success leading significant technical initiatives and aligning multiple engineering teams or platforms around a shared architecture vision.
• Strong systems-thinking capabilities with experience selecting effective interaction and integration patterns across complex business capabilities.
• Ability to evaluate architecture alternatives and clearly articulate what should be built, why, and the technical and business tradeoffs involved.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills, including the ability to influence senior stakeholders and mentor technical teams within matrixed organizations.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
• Experience with supply chain technology environments, SAP, or other large-scale ERP platforms is a plus
