Engineering Manager, Platform

Genius AI is seeking an Engineering Manager for a Platform team to drive engineering quality, team health, and impactful outcomes for the businesses we serve. This role leads tier-zero systems, including identity, permissions, session management, and messaging infrastructure, which are foundational to every product on the platform. You will partner closely with Product and Design leaders to ensure the systems your team builds are robust and scalable.

Responsibilities will include:

• Own end-to-end execution for your team, including delivery, quality, scope trade-offs, and decision-making to ship features without accumulating technical debt
• Embed AI tooling into your team’s development process to accelerate cycles, improve code quality, and automate bottlenecks
• Architect AI-powered systems and tooling to multiply your team’s productivity and output
• Partner with Product and Design from early strategy through production, providing engineering perspective before decisions are made
• Contribute to technical direction, surfacing platform needs and scaling challenges, and guiding architectural decisions
• Develop your team by investing in growth, stretching high-potential talent, and fostering an environment where people improve through collaboration
• Partner with recruiting to hire strong engineers, maintain a high bar for candidates, and build a culture that retains top talent

You’re a great fit if you:

• Have 5+ years of software engineering experience, including at least 2 years managing a software engineering team at a high-growth technology company
• Have fundamentally changed your software development approach because of AI, using it to architect, debug, write, and review code, and can articulate where it accelerates output versus where human judgment is needed
• Make decisions and move quickly, setting direction and iterating based on feedback
• Possess strong technical judgment, earning your team’s trust and providing meaningful input on architectural trade-offs
• Have a track record of developing engineers and can point to their growth and achievements
• Demonstrate customer-centric instincts, connecting engineering decisions to business outcomes
• Are comfortable collaborating closely with Product and Design to define both what gets built and how

Benefits include:

• Competitive health and dental insurance options, effective on your first day
• Flexible PTO
• In-office lunch twice per week for NYC and SF employees, plus late night dinner stipends
• Access to Wellhub for discounted gym memberships, fitness classes, and mental health resources
• Annual stipend for professional development and continued learning
• Generous recharge stipend for high performers at 5 years
• 401k benefit, with eligibility to contribute starting day 1
• Dependent Care FSA
• Paid parental leave
• Fertility and adoption benefits via Carrot and Kindbody
