Overnight Licensed Veterinary Technician

BluePearl Pet Hospital in Queens, NY – Licensed Veterinary Technician, Emergency Team, Mid Shift This position offers a sign‑on bonus up to $25,000 based on experience. Schedule: Thursdays–Saturdays, 8 p.m.–8 a.m. Base Pay: $30.00–$55.00 per hour. Pay band depends on experience and advancement through our competency assessment tool. Candidates with VTS credentialing are eligible for compensation commensurate with experience. Shift differentials (4‑hour minimum): Mon – Fri: 6‑p.m. to 8‑a.m. – $4.50/hour Sat & Sun: 8‑a.m. to 6‑p.m. – $4.50/hour Sat & Sun: 6‑p.m. to 8‑a.m. – $8.00/hour As an Emergency Veterinary Technician, you will: Induce, monitor, and recover anesthesia in patients and use anesthesia/monitoring equipment. Triage emergency cases as they arrive at the hospital, including obtaining vitals such as temperature, heart rate, respiratory rate, and blood pressure. Perform digital radiography with proper technique, including patient positioning. Have a comprehensive understanding of normal patient vital sign ranges, including heart rate, respiratory rate, temperature, blood pressure, and oxygen saturation. Obtain and interpret blood pressure and other vital signs and alert the Veterinarian to changes and issues. Identify patients at risk for arrest and initiate CPR. Accurately calculate medical math (including constant‑rate infusions) and administer medications via appropriate routes and durations. Perform phlebotomy and place intravenous catheters in all peripheral vessels. Place and maintain feeding tubes and central line catheters. Mentor and train other co‑workers.
