Dietitian

The Dietitian - Nutrition Educator will be responsible for providing nutrition education and counseling to individuals and groups in the Akron area. This position requires a strong knowledge of nutrition and the ability to effectively communicate complex information in a clear and understandable manner. The ideal candidate will have experience working with diverse populations including Indian nationals and must be able to provide culturally sensitive care. This role also involves working with students so the ability to adapt teaching methods for different age groups is important.

Responsibilities

• Conduct individualized nutrition assessments and develop personalized diet plans based on clients needs
• Provide nutrition education and counseling to individuals families and groups on topics such as healthy eating habits weight management chronic disease prevention and special dietary needs
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated care for clients
• Develop educational materials and deliver presentations on various nutrition topics
• Stay up-to-date on current research and trends in nutrition to provide evidence-based recommendations
• Maintain accurate records of client interactions and progress

Requirements

• Bachelors degree in Nutrition or a related field
• Masters degree preferred
• Registered Dietitian RD certification or eligibility for registration through the Commission on Dietetic Registration CDR
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in providing nutrition education or counseling services
• Knowledge of Indian cuisine and culture preferred
• Ability to communicate effectively with diverse populations including non-native English speakers
• Experience working with students preferred
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team

Salary $1200 per month
