About the Position

Job Title: OR RN Profession: RN Specialty: OR Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 11:00 - 23:00 Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 2 years current experience in acute OR setting License: RN License Certifications: ACLS, BLS Must-Have: Candidates without these skills will not be considered for the role. 2 years of current experience in an acute OR setting, including ortho, spine, and joint replacement experience. Experience with knee and hip replacements is preferred. Description: The OR unit consists of 7 beds staffed with 1 tech and 1 RN or 2 RNs depending on volume. Patient ratios are 1:1. Equipment used includes robotics, spine, and vascular technology. Documentation is completed using Meditech. On-call is required for 1-2 shifts during the week and 1 weekend shift per 4-week period. Candidates must be able to scrub and function as a circulator, knowledgeable in all service lines. Rotating weekends may be necessary. Typical procedures performed in the unit include joint replacements, ENT, ortho, spine, urology, vascular, podiatry, thoracic surgery, and plastic surgery. Additional preferences include PALS and CNOR certifications as well as any charge experience. The RN is responsible for the observation, assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation of care for all patients. Candidates should be proficient in charting, able to multitask, critical thinkers, and possess excellent bedside manner. OR scrubs will be provided by the unit. The facility is known for being a Joint Commission accredited hospital and a top-performing institution. It specializes in surgical programs, including orthopedics, robotics, and rehabilitation.
