Investor Operations Associate

We’re partnering with a highly respected global investment organization to add an Investor Onboarding Associate to its growing Investor Operations team in Charlotte. This is a newly created position offering the opportunity to take ownership of complex investor onboarding processes, work directly with investors, and collaborate with teams across the business.

What You’ll Do
Investor Onboarding & Client Service
- Manage the end-to-end onboarding process for investors in alternative investment vehicles, including commingled funds and separately managed accounts (SMAs).
- Serve as a primary point of contact for investors from initial engagement through documentation, approval, funding, and closing.
- Coordinate subscription agreements, investor questionnaires, tax documentation, and AML/KYC requirements.
- Maintain accurate investor, entity, and account information across internal systems and onboarding platforms.
- Track outstanding documentation, resolve onboarding issues, and keep processes moving toward critical closing and funding deadlines.
- Manage multiple onboarding workflows simultaneously while delivering a high level of service and attention to detail.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with Legal, Compliance, Fund Administration, Business Development, Client Relations, Accounting, and other internal teams to facilitate successful investor onboarding.
- Coordinate with external administrators, AML/KYC providers, and third-party onboarding vendors.
- Lead and participate in onboarding status meetings, communicating progress, outstanding items, dependencies, and potential risks.
- Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure a smooth and timely onboarding experience.
Technology & Process Improvement
- Manage investor onboarding workflows through digital subscription platforms such as Anduin, SUBSCRIBE, Goji, or comparable systems.
- Maintain onboarding trackers, dashboards, reporting, and accurate investor data across systems.
- Help investors and internal stakeholders navigate onboarding technology and digital platforms.
- Identify opportunities to improve workflows, strengthen controls, and increase efficiency through automation, data tools, and emerging technologies.
- Collaborate with internal teams and vendors on system enhancements, integrations, and scalable onboarding procedures.
What We’re Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree required; Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
- Approximately 5–7 years of relevant experience preferred, with an emphasis on hands-on investor onboarding expertise.
- Direct experience managing investor onboarding within alternative investments, private equity, hedge funds, asset management, transfer agency, or a comparable investment environment.
- Strong understanding of subscription documentation, AML/KYC requirements, and the tax and legal considerations involved in investor onboarding.
- Experience working directly with investors throughout the onboarding lifecycle and through fund closing.
- Familiarity with institutional and private investors, commingled funds, and/or separately managed accounts.
- Ability to independently manage multiple onboarding processes, competing priorities, and time-sensitive deadlines.
- Excellent communication, organizational, problem-solving, and relationship-building skills.
- Experience with digital investor onboarding or subscription platforms is a plus.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
