Onsite Chromatography Laboratory Instrument Specialist II

Thermo Fisher Scientific seeks a Chromatography Laboratory Instrument Specialist II to provide onsite service support for chromatography equipment in Cambridge, Massachusetts. The role involves repair, installation, and preventative maintenance of HPLC, UPLC, and FPLC systems, along with customer relationship management and technical troubleshooting.
Responsibilities
- Perform onsite repair, maintenance, and troubleshooting of HPLC, UPLC, FPLC, and other laboratory equipment
- Schedule and conduct preventative maintenance and installations at customer locations
- Communicate with customers and internal teams to manage service requests and expectations
- Document service activities and close out work orders in administrative systems
- Serve as Thermo Fisher Scientific representative and advocate in customer laboratories
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; BS in Life Sciences or Electronics preferred
- 2+ years experience with HPLC, UPLC, or FPLC maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair
- Ability to diagnose and resolve problems in electro-mechanical laboratory instrumentation
- Strong interpersonal and customer communication skills
- Ability to read technical drawings, wiring diagrams, and assembly schematics
- Proficiency with service administration software and business functions
- Mass spectrometry experience preferred
Compensation: $32.42–$48.62 hourly
