Our client is a leading engineering consulting firm specializing in the design, modernization, and expansion of electrical transmission and distribution infrastructure. Perform engineering and design for new substations and substation expansions (12kV through 500kV).

Develop one-line diagrams, three-line diagrams, schematics, wiring diagrams, protection and control drawings, and physical layouts.

Prepare equipment specifications for transformers, breakers, disconnect switches, relays, bus systems, and associated substation equipment.

Conduct engineering studies including load flow, short-circuit, grounding, insulation coordination, and relay coordination analyses.

Support protection and control design activities and coordinate with relay engineering teams.

Review vendor drawings and technical submittals to ensure compliance with project requirements.

Collaborate with project managers, construction teams, utility clients, and other engineering disciplines.

Support construction activities by responding to RFIs, reviewing field changes, and participating in commissioning efforts.

Ensure designs comply with applicable industry standards and regulations, including IEEE, ANSI, NESC, NEC, and utility-specific requirements.

Manage project schedules, budgets, and deliverables while maintaining quality standards.

A successful Substation Engineer should have:

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution.

3+ years of substation engineering experience. (Level may be adjusted based on experience.)

Knowledge of transmission and distribution systems.

Experience with substation physical and/or protection & control design.

Familiarity with industry standards including IEEE, ANSI, NESC, and NEC.

Proficiency with engineering software such as AutoCAD, MicroStation, ETAP, SKM, CYME, ASPEN, or similar tools.

Strong analytical, problem-solving, and technical writing skills.

Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
