This new facility replaces the Denver facility of 670,000 square feet with a new state of the art campus of approximately 1.2 million square feet on 31 acres, providing many new services to Veterans. The new Aurora, Colorado location is ideally located on the southeast corner of the former Fitzsimons Army Base just off Interstate 225, immediately west of RTD's light rail station and neighboring Children's Hospital and the University of Colorado Anschutz Health Care Campus. Other locations may include: Denver Clinic, Denver Community Resource Referral Center, Lakewood Valor Point DomiciliaryPosition OverviewDuties may include, but are not limited to:Documenting observations, assessments, and changes in patient's condition.Collaborating with healthcare team members and other interdisciplinary teams to facilitate positive patient care outcomes.Providing a full range of complex and comprehensive nursing care to patients with a variety of physical and/or behavioral problems.Accountable for meeting and maintaining the qualification standards and functional statements of the job.Demonstrates organizational skills which enable completion of work in a timely manner with demonstrated ability to assume a leadership role in a patient-centered program.Establishes effective communication with patients, families, visitors and members of the interdisciplinary team.Make nursing care assignments for various skill levels of professional and assistive personnel as assignedPrepare patients for surgical and diagnostic procedures and assist with procedures as necessary. Provide post-procedure and post-operative recovery care.Verify the correctness and content of all recorded entries in the patient record. All documentation/records/reports must meet or exceed established VA standards to include, but not limited to: timeliness, legibility, accuracy, content, and signature. The outpatient record shall be completed the same day the patient is seen.Provide a full range of operating room nursing services within the professional scope of practice for a variety of operative proceduresConduct pre-operative assessment and interviews for patients scheduledConduct post-operative patient evaluations, summon the appropriate specialist in emergency situations and provide nursing care as necessary throughout the operative episode.QualificationsDiploma, Associate Degree or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (preferred) from an accredited program, college, or university.Hold a current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in any State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, Guam, or the U.S. Virgin Islands.Has been practicing actively as an RN for at least the last two years.Capable of providing complex and comprehensive nursing care for adult medical and surgical patients.Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certifications.Has documented training and skills verification.Has been actively practicing as a registered nurse in an OR for two years; or has been actively practicing in an acute and long-term setting for one year.KurzSolutions is committed to improving health outcomes by providing well-managed companies with the top healthcare talent in the market.
