Pay Range: $45-$47/hour

About the Role

Our client is seeking a Software Developer to join a team responsible for developing and supporting embedded application software for a new ground combat vehicle program. You will contribute throughout the software development lifecycle including requirements architecture and design coding testing integration debugging and software releases. This position is 100% onsite due to the nature of the work.

What You Will Do

• Develop software documentation and code across vehicle domains such as board support cybersecurity displays or downloading.
• Perform software requirements analysis.
• Develop preliminary and detailed software designs using department-approved design tools and standards.
• Develop software code in accordance with established department standards and procedures.
• Develop test procedures and perform unit and functional testing of executable software.
• Perform hardware/software integration.
• Debug software issues identified throughout multiple testing phases.
• Provide development task status updates to software project leads.
• Contribute to software releases involving multiple developers.
• Interface with other departments and business units including Systems Engineering and Software Quality.
• Participate in Agile Scrum ceremonies.
• Support continuous improvement processes and methodologies.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

What You Bring to the Table

• Bachelors degree in Computer Engineering Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
• 1-4 years of experience in a related software development role.
• Experience with Git GitLab and/or Bitbucket.
• Experience with one or more of the following: Java C# C C Python or Qt.
• Experience working with mixed operating system environments such as VxWorks Linux RTOS virtualization BSPs and GVOS.
• Experience with serial and network protocols such as RS-232/422 CAN TCP/IP and UDP/IP.
• Experience with DDS Kafka or other publish/subscribe middleware.
• Experience with Agile processes and tools.
• Strong communication interpersonal and organizational skills.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to work occasional evening and/or weekend overtime as required.

What Sets You Apart

• Previous experience working in the defense industry.
• Experience with ground combat vehicle network architecture.
• Familiarity with GCIA MOSA SOSA or FACE.
• Familiarity with Type 1/2 hypervisors.
• Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
• Familiarity with IoT concepts.
• Experience with Cameo Systems Modeler.
• Experience with Time Sensitive Networking (TSN) architectures.
• Experience with NGVA (NATO Ground Vehicle Architecture) data models.
• Experience with UKGVA (UK Ground Vehicle Architecture) data models.
• Experience with Data Distribution Service (DDS).
• Experience with UDP TCP and multicast networking.
• Ability to support embedded software development for complex vehicle systems.

Additional Requirements

• Must be able to climb on and off work in and work around military vehicles.
• Must be able to pass an ASR (Anthropometric Size Requirement) test for confined-space access.
• Travel of up to 10% may be required periodically.
