Mainsail Group is accepting applications for a Journeyman Information Security Analyst to support United States Space Force Space Systems Command (SSC), Space Sensing (SN) activities in Los Angeles Air Force Base in El Segundo, California.

This position will provide continuous monitoring, vulnerability assessment, evidence management, remediation tracking, and security-control validation for assigned Space Sensing systems and portfolios. The selected candidate will execute assessment procedures under approved scope and produce evidence-traceable cybersecurity products.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on Risk Management Framework experience in a Department of Defense environment, disciplined evidence practice, and the ability to work classified systems in a controlled-access facility.

What you will be doing:

• Support scheduled security control assessments and execute assessment procedures under approved scope and rules of engagement.

• Perform recurring vulnerability scanning and IAVM-related analysis; review scan completeness, identify vulnerabilities, and track remediation status.

• Collect, normalise, verify, and maintain cybersecurity evidence, including logs, configurations, scan results, POA&Ms, prior findings, and change records.

• Monitor assigned systems for configuration drift and unauthorised change and document results for senior review.

• Assist in validating false positives and negatives, retesting remediated items, and mapping findings to applicable controls and frameworks.

• Prepare technical inputs for assessment plans, findings, final reports, scan reports, configuration drift reports, and remediation trackers.

• Support POA&M updates, evidence repositories, action tracking, and cross-site coordination.

• Maintain required clearance, DoD 8140 qualification, privileged access, and mandatory training.

What you will need:

• Professional experience and technical depth commensurate with a Journeyman-level role in the applicable functional area.

• DoD 8140 cyberspace workforce qualification: IAT Level II or an applicable Defense Cyberspace Workforce Framework role.

• Relevant experience supporting Department of Defense or national security system assessments, continuous monitoring, or Risk Management Framework assessment and authorisation activity.

• Working knowledge of RMF evidence development, POA&M workflow, and security control assessment.

• Ability to meet Department of Defense privileged-access, background investigation, training, and least-privilege requirements.

• IAT Level II certification required (Security+ CE, CySA+, CND, GSEC, or equivalent).

• Strong research, analytical, technical writing, editing, and briefing skills.

• Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with military, civilian, FFRDC, and contractor personnel.

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications used to develop technical reports, briefings, schedules, and other Government deliverables.

• Ability to work on site in Los Angeles Air Force Base in El Segundo, California and support in-person Government meetings and mission activities as required.

• Ability to support CONUS and OCONUS travel when required by the Government.

• Ability to work with sensitive and classified information, Government systems, controlled-access facilities, and Government-furnished equipment in accordance with contract requirements.

• Security Clearance: Active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility required. Ability to obtain and maintain SCI indoctrination as required by the contract.

Desired Skills/Experience:

• Experience with ACAS/Tenable, DISA STIGs, IAVM processes, eMASS, and RMF evidence development.

• Experience supporting United States Space Force, Space Systems Command, or another Department of Defense space acquisition organization.

• Experience in a satellite ground system or space mission environment.

• Familiarity with ICD 503 and JSIG in addition to NIST SP 800-53.
