Modern Technology Solutions, Inc. (MTSI) is hiring a Data Architect to work in Springfield, VA or St. Louis, MO. Qualified candidates must be U.S. citizens with an active TS/SCI clearance and be eligible to obtain a CI Poly. Responsibilities include leading the architecture, deployment, and sustainment of the Cloud Native Platform, building and maturing a secure, federated, multi-cloud platform, working closely with various teams to ensure seamless interoperability, defining data models, schemas, metadata structures, APIs and data governance rules, managing a team of data engineers, partnering with tech leads, enterprise architects, DE/MBSE engineers, platform/cloud engineers, cyber teams and mission engagement leads, advising the Chief Architect and senior leaders on data ecosystems, designing end-to-end data models, schemas, ontologies, metadata structures, and APIs, collaborating with MBSE, platform, and application teams to build automated pipelines and interfaces, establishing and enforcing enterprise-wide data governance, and acting as a key technical liaison between the government and multiple vendors.

Required qualifications include a Bachelor's degree with 8+ years of experience in data architecture, data engineering, enterprise architecture, or related disciplines, DoD compliance, strong experience designing and implementing data models, ontologies, schemas, APIs, metadata frameworks and distributed data architectures, proven experience with relational, graph and time-series databases; metadata/cataloging systems; and enterprise modern ETL/ELT pipelines, and experience working within Scrum or Agile development teams. Desired qualifications include experience building data fabrics, data meshes or authoritative enterprise data layers, experience integrating data architecture with MBSE tools, EA tools and Digital Threads, strong background in pipeline automation, API design and multi-enclave data synchronization, prior experience serving as a trusted advisor to government technical leadership, ability to automate data discovery, metadata capture and artifact ingestion to assess current Digital Ecosystem state and inform ROI analysis, and broader understanding of DEE tech stack including MBSE, MS&A environments, cloud-native platforms, DevSecOps pipelines and enterprise architecture modeling. Clearance requirements include being a U.S. citizen with an active TS/SCI clearance and be eligible to obtain a CI Poly.
