FOOD UNIT LEAD (FULL TIME)

Job Overview We are hiring immediately for a full-time Food Unit Lead at Nixa Public Schools. Location: 301 South Main Street, Nixa, MO 65714. Prior supervisory and food service experience is preferred. Schedule: Full-time, days may vary, typically 7:30 AM to 2:30 PM. More details upon interview. Pay range: $16.50 to $18.00 per hour. New Hire Bonus: $250 total, with $125 after 30 days and $125 after 60 days. Job Summary Summary: Coordinates activities of other food-service employees. Creates an enjoyable dining experience for customers, staff and visitors. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Provides quality customer service by giving one-on-one attention to detail. Oversees and participates in the preparation and service of food and beverage items in accordance with company standards for presentation, sanitation, safety and portion control. Helps plan menus. Ensures timely, efficient meal service; supervises serving of meals. Responds to customer complaints in person and via written/electronic communication as appropriate. Trains employees; assigns and coordinates work to promote efficiency and excellence in food and service. Determines work procedures, prepares work schedules and expedites workflow. Uses proper systems for completion of required daily/weekly/monthly reports (inventory, production, payroll and time-keeping). Responsible for proper cash handling as established by the Food Accounting Manual. Orders food and other necessary supplies from approved sources. Directs and participates in sanitation and safety of the facility and employees in accordance with company standards and government regulations. Develops sanitation schedule and ensures adherence for cleaning of kitchen and dining areas and washing of utensils and equipment. Issues written and oral instructions. Helps select and orient employees; oversees staff training in areas of responsibility. Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications Prior supervisory experience in food service is preferred. Strong customer-service and communication skills.
