Job Details:

• Per diem Physician Assistant position supporting the General Surgery team
• Duties include intra-operative assisting and comprehensive inpatient services
• Perform daily rounds and surgical consultations
• Conduct emergency room assessments of surgical patients
• Manage patient admissions and discharges
• Coverage includes general surgery, orthopedics, and some operative assisting of other surgical specialties
• Schedule includes both weekday and weekend coverage with no call required
• Perform routine physical examinations and formulate medical, educational, and psychosocial treatment plans
• Develop plans for further evaluation of health needs in consultation with physicians and care team members
• Provide appropriate treatment within scope of practice per established protocols
• Must hold an unrestricted State of Connecticut Medical License (or be eligible)
• Minimum 2+ years of experience in general surgery required
• Physician Assistant training required

Compensation:
Competitive hourly rates with weekly pay and malpractice included.
