Includes multi-company, multi-state and multiple pay cycles./liliExecutes proper control, payment and reporting of special payrolls including executive, manager and supervisor bonuses./liliResponsible for payments to US citizens working for Sonoco outside of the US (expatriates)./liliMaintain controls and audits to ensure that the payrolls are calculated properly and that Sonoco is in compliance with wage and hour laws./liliAudits HR entries into Workday to ensure compliance with SOX to identify any control weaknesses. Initiates corrective action for system edit and error messages./liliHandles exceptional pays including moving pay, stock options, COLA, and expatriates. Must ensure that these payments are taxed correctly./liliHave in-depth knowledge of pay practices and federal, state and local wage and hour law and tax regulations./liliAssist with year-end processing to ensure that tax forms are issued timely and accurately./liliMust be able to research federal and state rules and regulations./liliMust be able to make decisions to resolve pay issues that arise with the operations, balancing the needs of the employees with the cost to Sonoco, while ensuring that Sonoco is in compliance with federal, state and local regulations./liliMake recommendations for process and system improvements./liliParticipates in system testing as required for software/hardware upgrades, implementations, acquisitions and integrations./liliMaintains processing task list and documentation according to department standards/liliProvide back-up support to other team members when needed./li/ulpThis position is located at our Corporate Headquarters in beautiful Hartsville, SC and 100% onsite out of Hartsville. Possibility of being Hybrid once training period is over, but must resides close or near Hartsville or open to relocation./p/div
