Job Summary:
The Radiology/Cardiology Mammography Technician provides specialized interventional radiology support including chemo delivery, GI bleed management, and various vascular and pulmonary procedures. This role requires proficiency in advanced imaging techniques and patient care in both inpatient and outpatient settings. The technician collaborates with the healthcare team to ensure safe and effective treatment delivery, documentation, and patient monitoring during procedures.
Responsibilities:
The Radiology/Cardiology Mammography Technician provides specialized interventional radiology support including chemo delivery, GI bleed management, and various vascular and pulmonary procedures. This role requires proficiency in advanced imaging techniques and patient care in both inpatient and outpatient settings. The technician collaborates with the healthcare team to ensure safe and effective treatment delivery, documentation, and patient monitoring during procedures.
Responsibilities:
- Perform Y-90 chemo delivery and manage GI bleeds.
- Administer TPA and conduct vein sampling procedures.
- Provide Phase 2 recovery care for patients post-procedure.
- Operate and manage medication dispensing systems (Pyxis).
- Document procedures and patient information using EPIC system.
- Assist with biopsies, CT procedures, endovascular lab work, and stent placements.
- Support patient care for a mix of inpatient and outpatient cases involving GI, GU/renal, peripheral vascular, and pulmonary conditions.
- Active ACLS and BLS certifications.
- Minimum 1 year of relevant interventional radiology or cardiology experience preferred.
- Proficiency with Pyxis medication system and EPIC documentation software.
- Demonstrated ability to perform Y-90 chemo delivery, GI bleed management, TPA administration, and vein sampling.
- Ability to manage Phase 2 recovery and support complex imaging and interventional procedures.
- Experience with endovascular lab procedures and stent placement.
- Familiarity with a broad range of patient diagnoses including biopsies and pulmonary cases.
- Previous travel healthcare experience is advantageous but not required.
- Must not have been a permanent employee of any Providence-affiliated facility within the last 3 months.
- Call required once a week overnight and every 5th or 6th weekend.
- Candidate must meet all required skills; those missing requirements will be screened out.
- Work schedule consists of four 10-hour day shifts, from 07:00 to 17:30.
- On-call shifts include overnight coverage once per week and weekend rotations every 5th or 6th weekend.
