Engineering Technician II

About the role As a Engineering Technician II at Mytra, you will join our Manufacturing Engineering team during a period of rapid scaling and production growth. Our team is focused on optimizing assembly lines and hardware reliability; we need a highly proficient specialist to plan and execute cross-functional work that bridges the gap between design and high-quality production. What you'll do: Support Production Continuity: Independently execute routine assembly workflows. Troubleshoot common technical issues on the floor and elevate complex problems when the impact exceeds defined scope. Execute & Maintain Processes: Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) with high accuracy and care. Support the maintenance of routine technical documentation and reports, suggesting small process improvements when prompted. Support Workflow Efficiency: Contribute to lean manufacturing initiatives and team-level operational reliability by balancing efficiency with strict attention to quality and detail. Maintain Production Assets: Operate standard equipment, support preventive maintenance tasks, and assist with tooling inventory tracking. Execute Hardware Builds: Build product prototypes according to established documentation and assist with routine inspections to validate engineering changes. Collaborate & Coordinate: Share status updates clearly with the team, ask precise questions to clarify requirements and assist with peer coordination and onboarding of new team members. Ideal Candidates Have proven experience with mechanical assembly, standard shop tools, and interpreting technical drawings, blueprints, and electrical schematics. Have hands-on fabrication experience and familiarity with standard machine tools. Have experience working with structural components, including safely moving heavy equipment with an understanding of level, plumb, and parallelism. Are proficient in using standard Metrology & Inspection tools like calipers, height gauges, and micrometers to complete routine measurements accurately. Have an Associate degree (or equivalent) with 3-5 years of relevant experience in a manufacturing or prototyping environment. Consistently follow safety procedures, demonstrate good spatial awareness (relative to overhead hazards and moving equipment), and maintain a clean, organized work environment (5S). Are physically capable of lifting up to 40 pounds and remaining mobile throughout the facility. Have experience or comfort working at heights and basic familiarity with rigging (slings, shackles, hooks, etc.). Are capable navigators of modern digital tools (Google Suite) and manufacturing software systems (ERP/MRP/PLM) like Arena or Linear, with assistance as needed. Nice to have: Logistics & Rigging: Experience operating heavy equipment such as forklifts, scissor lifts, or boom lifts. Electronics Familiarity: Basic experience with wire harness builds, cable termination, and routing. Continuous Improvement: Familiarity with Lean Six Sigma or ISO 9001 quality management environments. A Final Note: At Mytra, we build bots, but we hire humans.
