We're looking for a Senior Financial Analyst who can go beyond the spreadsheets-someone who wants to understand the why behind the numbers, uncover the drivers of performance, and turn financial and operational data into insights that move the business forward.


In this hybrid role, you'll partner closely with operational leaders to identify opportunities, improve margins and cash flow, and help shape stronger financial performance. What You Will Do

We are seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Senior Financial Analyst to support financial planning, operational analysis, and executive reporting. This role requires a hands-on professional who can dive deep into financial and operational data, identify drivers of performance, and translate complex variance analysis into actionable insights.


The ideal candidate will not only explain what happened, but why it happened - and partner with operational leaders to improve margins, cash flow, and overall financial performance.


Key Responsibilities:

Planning & Forecasting

• Support annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting processes.

• Build and maintain financial models/templates to project revenue and margins.

• Develop sensitivity and scenario analysis to assess financial impact of operational decisions.

Financial Analysis & Variance Reporting

• Perform monthly financial close analysis, including detailed revenue, margin, SG&A for assigned sectors and SG&A cost centers.

• Experience with inventory and consumables, including cost trends and usage

• Investigate and explain budget vs. actual, forecast vs. actual, and prior year variances.

• Track job-level performance and contract profitability

• Analyze and track revenue trends to identify drives of change including renewals, contract expansions, new and lost business.

• Evaluate operational KPIs including DSO, DIO, labor efficiency, and cost trends.

• Identify trends, risks, and opportunities and proactively communicate insights to leadership.

Operational Partnership

• Partner with operations leaders to understand business drivers and cost structure.

• Analyze labor, material, and overhead variances at a detailed level.

• Evaluate contract performance, margin movement (i.e. margin improvement/erosion), and cost pass-through dynamics.

• Provide decision support planning through detailed financial analysis, financial modeling and/or scenario analysis.

• Participate in business reviews and provide financial insight to non-financial stakeholders.

Reporting & Executive Communication

• Prepare executive and board-level reporting materials with clear and concise commentary.

• Improve reporting processes to enhance accuracy, efficiency, and transparency.

Process Improvement & Controls

• Improve financial reporting processes and data integrity.

• Assist with implementation of new financial tools, reporting structures, or automation initiatives.

• Ensure compliance with accounting policies and internal controls (i.e. invoice and expense report approvals).

What It Takes To Be Successful

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field.

• 5+ years of progressive experience in financial analysis, FP&A, or corporate finance.

• Strong understanding of income statement, balance sheet, and cash flow interdependencies.

• Intermediate to advanced Excel skills require, with demonstrated ability to build financial models, analyze/manipulate data sets, use complex formulas (INDEX/MATCH or XLOOKUP), pivot tables and ability build and calculate scenario analysis.

• Highly motivated, achievement driven, and committed to delivering accurate high-quality work products

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to apply critical thinking to complex financial and operational issues.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Preferred qualifications: Hands-on experience with Planful (or similar FP&A forecasting tools) for budgeting, forecasting, and reporting and ERP systems (e.g. SAP by Design)
