Job DescriptionJob Description PurposeLVNs provide medical support to physicians, registered nurses and patients. They provide routine care, take vital information from patients, provide information about treatments and prescriptions and observe patient health. An LVN may also have duties that include supervising other staff and delegating dutiesResponsibilitiesRecord a patient’s medical history accuratelyTake and record measurements of blood pressure, temperature, heart rate etc.Observe patients under treatment to identify progress, side-effects of medications etc.Monitor patients’ condition including fluid intake and output and compose patient chartsAssist ailing patients in daily necessary activities such as eating, bathing etc.Administer injections, prescribed medications, enemas etc., clean and dress wounds and assist with other basic medical care tasksCollect samples for lab testing as assignedProvide emotional and psychological support when neededCommunicate with patients’ family or friends to provide advice, comfort and release instructionsRequirementsAbility to undertake a variety of diverse care tasks and work in a multidisciplinary teamFamiliarity with skilled Nursing, safety and sanitation standards and proceduresUnderstanding of confidentiality obligations and nursing best practicesExcellent knowledge of medical and hospital terminologyGood knowledge of MS Office and data entryPerfect physical condition and staminaExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsCompassionate and able to handle stressSuccessful completion of LPN license program is a mustOther duties as assignedMay be required to work variable shift (evening and night) when needed.
