Description
  • Conduct assessments on patients of all ages using established evaluation tools and observational methods to understand their needs.
  • Craft tailored treatment plans that address immediate objectives while paving the way for lasting communication, cognitive, and swallowing improvements.
  • Deliver engaging one-on-one speech therapy sessions that cater to communication, language, fluency, voice, and swallowing aspects.
  • Partner effectively with physical and occupational therapists, nursing staff, physicians, caregivers, and families to design integrated care pathways.
  • Provide valuable education to patients and their families to encourage meaningful progress even outside of therapy sessions.
  • Participate in occasional inpatient assessments and therapy to ensure consistent care throughout the rehabilitation process.
  • Keep detailed and timely documentation in line with regulatory standards and best practices.
  • Commit to ongoing learning through professional development and collaboration with peers.
Education
  • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from a recognized institution.
  • Completion of a Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if not yet certified by ASHA.
Certifications
  • Valid state licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist .
  • Preferred: ASHA's Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification to be completed within 30 days of hire.
Skills
  • Expertise in evidence-based practices for an array of age groups, alongside a solid understanding of both developmental and acquired speech, language, and swallowing disorders.
  • Strong communication skills with patients, their families, and interdisciplinary team members.
  • Ability to tailor therapy methods to embrace cultural and linguistic diversity.
  • Exceptional clinical judgment and critical thinking skills.
  • Comfort with electronic health records and documentation requirements.
