Building Attendant

East Lawn Position

Summary: Open and close buildings, secure property, managing equipment, and ensure guests have exit prior to closing.

Schedule: Monday-Friday 4:00pm - 8:00pm

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

• Provide a professional approach and decorum with customers and fellow staff members and adhere to East Lawn's Mission Statement and Values.
• Open buildings and prepare facility for guests at start of shift; secure buildings and ensure lights and equipment are turned off at end of shift.
• Escorting guests out of buildings and grounds prior to closing. Ensure all areas are cleared before locking gates and doors.
• Lower flags (e.g., 911 Memorial flags) and ensure proper storage according to company protocol.
• Move golf carts and family van into the garage and secure all equipment.
• Patrol the building and surrounding areas to ensure safety and security.
• Assist with special functions or services as needed, including moving equipment, setting up rooms, or supporting staff.
• Perform light cleaning or tidying tasks as necessary to maintain facility standards.
• Other duties as required.

• Strong observational and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Familiarity with cemetery and facility layout preferred
• Ability to operate carts and basic equipment
• Physical ability to perform duties including walking, lifting, and climbing stairs
• Must be able to work in evening or low-light conditions
• May require morning, evening, weekend, or holiday hours depending on facility needs

Education/Experience

• High School Diploma or Equivalent

Math Ability

• Basic Math Skills

Computer Skills

• Mobile App Management
• Web Search Skills
• Basic computer skills to include email

Certificates and Licenses

• Valid Driver License

Supervisory Responsibilities

This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

This position is in a mausoleum, funeral home and cemetery. Noise level is low to moderate. May work in low light conditions, dusty areas, or outdoors in varying weather conditions including heat, cold, and rain.

It requires the ability to walk, bend, lift or carry items or equipment up to 75 pounds, and access all areas of the park or facility.
