Registered Nurses are responsible for providing direct patient care. The average number of patients seen per day typically ranges from 70 to 85. Common diagnoses include abdominal pain, chest pain, sepsis, and trauma. Nurses will manage their own patients and ER holds. There are designated triage bays, but travelers are not typically assigned to triage duties. The nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:4. All rooms are equipped for cardiac monitoring. Nurses will perform patient assessments, administer medications, and coordinate care. Weekend and holiday shifts are required: every third weekend and two holidays per year. Nurses will work with a team that includes mid-level providers and other support staff. Certain certifications are mandatory for this role, including BLS and ACLS. This position requires a strong ability to handle stressful situations and make quick decisions. Artificial nails are prohibited in the department providing patient care. Failure to comply with policies will result in termination of the contract.
