Night shift, 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM, with every other weekend required.

Job Description

The Registered Nurse in the Postpartum unit will care for mothers and newborns following childbirth and support patients undergoing GYN surgeries. The unit features 25 beds and operates with a staff of 4-5 nurses per shift, ensuring a patient-to-nurse ratio of 1:5-6. The electronic medical record system used is Meditech and CPN.

Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate nursing care to postpartum mothers and their newborns.
• Assist in GYN surgeries and offer post-operative care.
• Utilize EMR systems for patient documentation and care management.
• Coordinate with healthcare team members to ensure high standards of care.

Required Experience

• Mother-baby experience is strongly preferred.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification is required.

Certifications/Licensure

• Current RN license in the state of Texas.
