To conduct a variety of scheduled indoor and outdoor activities as well as to facilitate the shift scheduled at the Keiki Explorer’s Club and its requisite programs; to assist in all children’s activities scheduled at the resort as well as to assist other departments in facilitating the enjoyment of our junior guests.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Implement all activities, events and entertainment as scheduled.
- Promote all resort programs, facilities, and services.
- Ensure that children registered in the children’s program receive best care and attention.
- Be available as a nanny if needed.
- Communicate effectively with all relevant departments to ensure Keiki Explorer needs are met.
- Observe specific parent directions for feeding, nap times and special needs.
- Answer telephone promptly and professionally.
- Attend meetings as assigned to share information and receive input from other key departments.
- Promote strong positive inter-departmental relations, with an attitude of teamwork and helpfulness.
- Censure good stewardship of supplies and resources.
- Solicit guest and members feedback on programs.
- Follow opening and closing procedures to departmental standards.
- Maintain a safe working environment. Report and correct, if possible, any unsafe acts or conditions.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Center attention on the children’s needs and safety at all times. Follow all safety rules.
- Project a positive, friendly and caring attitude always while interacting with children and their parents.
- Provide parents and guardian information of the child’s behavior and any unusual occurrence or activity involving their child.
- Maintain complete knowledge of and comply with all departmental policies, service procedures and standards.
- Greeting guests in a professional and courteous manner.
- Flexibility to work shifts that will include early mornings, evenings, weekends and public holidays.
- A warm and welcoming personality and willingness to engage with our guests.
- Represents the company in a visibly professional manner, demonstrating pride and care in appearance and grooming.
- Ensure that standards are maintained at a superior level on a daily basis.
- Maintain complete knowledge of correct maintenance and use of equipment.Use equipment only as intended.
- Anticipate guests’ needs, respond promptly and acknowledge all guests, however busy and whatever time of day.
- Resolve guest complaints, ensuring guest satisfaction.
- Ensure knowledge of hotel services, features, and amenities.
- Must perform their job functions to the hotel's expected level of service.
- Accommodate all guest requests in an accurate and efficient manner.
- All other duties as required by Direct Manager and Supervisor.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience:Previous experience in a kid-friendly environment is preferred.
- Education:High school diploma.
- General Skills: Must be able to perform job functions with attention to detail, speed and accuracy; prioritize, organize and follow-up; be a clear thinker, remaining calm and resolving problems using good judgment; follow directions thoroughly; understand a guest’s service needs; work cohesively with co-workers as part of a team; work with minimal supervision; maintain confidentiality of guest information and pertinent hotel data.
- Technical Skills: Thorough knowledge of hotel services and amenities; ability to compute basic arithmetic; provide legible communication and directions; ability to ascertain departmental training needs.
- Language: Required to speak, read and write English, with fluency in other languages preferred.
- Physical Requirements: Must be able to exert physical effort in transporting 30 pounds, endure various physical movements throughout the work areas, reach up and down, remain stationary at times throughout work periods, and satisfactorily communicate with guests and co-workers to their understanding.
