Job Summary and Responsibilities

As a Palliative Care Physician, you will provide comprehensive symptom management, goals-of-care discussions, and supportive care for patients with serious illness. Care is delivered in alignment with established clinical standards, ethical guidelines, and best practices in palliative medicine.

The role offers a collegial, multidisciplinary support team within a well-established tertiary referral network, along with a strong physician-facing infrastructure designed to reduce administrative burden and allow providers to focus on patient care. Physicians also benefit from practice in a Magnet-designated hospital recognized for nursing excellence and high standards of clinical care. Experienced physicians and graduating fellows/residents pursuing palliative care physician and hospice medicine career opportunities are encouraged to apply.

You will be working with an interdisciplinary team of healthcare professionals. In addition to bringing your whole self to the workplace each day, qualified candidates will need the following:

• Strongly recommend successful completion of a palliative care fellowship (Physicians with a background in pain management/anesthesia may also be considered)

• Obtain and maintain an unrestricted Drug Enforcement Agency ("DEA") registration

• Be board certified or eligible in the appropriate specialty, by a board acceptable to Hospital

• Obtain Medical Staff Privileges within the Health system, at sponsoring institution

• Doctorate MD or DO required

• DR-Current and unrestricted license to practice medicine in applicable state required

Physical Requirements - Medium Work - (Exert up to 50lbs force occasionally, and/or up to 20lbs frequently, and/or up to 10lbs constantly)

Schedule

• Full-time, 40 hours per week

• Flexible options: 4x10s or 5x8s

Penrose - St. Francis Health Services is a full-service, 712-bed acute care provider in Colorado Springs comprising Penrose Hospital, St. Francis Hospital and St. Francis Hospital - Interquest. Penrose Hospital serves as the anchor hospital of Penrose-St. Francis Health Services with 300-licensed beds and the ability to provide tertiary (high tech) medical-surgical services with an emphasis on elective and outpatient care. Pay Range

$239,200 - $270,400 /year
