Power Transmission Substation Project Lead (Hybrid)

Job Title: Project Manager II – Power Transmission, Substation & Utility Construction Location: Project-Based (Field + Office Hybrid) Experience Level: Mid-Level (4–8 Years) What You’ll Do Lead medium to large power construction projects across transmission, substations, and utility‑scale/data center work Own the entire project lifecycle—scope, schedule, budget, quality, safety, and execution Manage field and office teams, partnering with Construction Managers to drive progress Build and maintain Primavera schedules, ensuring milestones and client expectations are met Oversee budgets, forecasting, and full P&L responsibility Manage contracts, subcontractors, and change orders Serve as the primary client contact, building strong relationships and ensuring clear communication Lead weekly planning meetings for manpower, equipment, and resources Conduct site visits and field walk‑downs to actively monitor progress and resolve issues Ensure compliance with OSHA, NEC, NFPA 70E, and other safety standards Deliver accurate reporting including progress updates, billing, and cash flow projections What You Bring 4–8 years of project management experience in power, substation, transmission, or data center utility projects Strong field‑based construction knowledge—you understand how projects are actually built Proven experience managing scope, schedule, budget, and financial performance (P&L) Hands‑on experience with Primavera or similar scheduling tools Ability to read and interpret civil, structural, and electrical plans Experience managing contracts, subcontractors, and change orders Strong communication skills with the ability to lead teams and influence outcomes Willingness to be project‑based and travel as needed Preferred Preferred: PMP, CCM, or PE certification Why You’ll Want This Role True Ownership: Full control over your projects, including financials and execution—your impact is visible and measurable Career Acceleration: Clear pathway to lead larger, more complex, high‑voltage and infrastructure projects Industry Stability + Growth: Work in the booming energy and data center infrastructure space Hands‑On Leadership: Get out from behind the desk and lead in the field where decisions matter Strong Culture: Join a team that prioritizes safety, collaboration, accountability, and delivering high‑quality work Real Support: Company‑provided truck, fuel card, travel coverage, phone, and purchasing tools Performance Rewards: Competitive compensation with bonuses tied directly to project success Job Type & Location This is a permanent position based out of Houston, TX. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $91,000.00 - $137,000.00/yr.
