Department and Salary Department: Preventive Maintenance Salary: Commensurate with Experience/Education Description Assists journey HVAC mechanic in repairing and maintaining heating, ventilating, air conditioning and refrigeration systems in university owned buildings. Pursuant to the State of Texas Executive Order No. GA-48, this position researches, works on, or has access to critical infrastructure and requires the ability to maintain the security or integrity of the University infrastructure. This position requires personnel to be routinely reviewed to determine whether or not criminal history or continuous connections for the government or political apparatus of a foreign adversary might prevent the employee from being able to maintain the security or integrity of the infrastructure. Responsibilities Gathers tools and supplies to be used at work site, according to instructions. Assists in lifting, positioning and fastening objects and equipment; removes old equipment as required. Assist in the more routine maintenance chores, such as cleaning units, filter replacement, rust removal and repainting, draining and filling oil reservoirs. Clears up after jobs at the work site and maintains the shop clean and neat. Assists in maintaining tools and equipment in good condition, and in keeping supplies and parts in order. Performs other job-related duties as assigned. Qualifications High School Diploma or GED Required MQ: Requires a basic knowledge of grammar, spelling, punctuation and simple mathematical functions like percentages, ratios, etc. which might normally be acquired through attainment of a high school diploma or GED. Education verification will be conducted upon acceptance of an employment offer. No experience is required.
