Job Title: Aircraft Assembler
Job Description
The Aircraft Assembler performs complex assembly and fitting of detailed aircraft parts and structural components, ensuring all work meets or exceeds specifications. This role focuses on highproductivity assembly processes, including sealant application, installation of fasteners, electrical harnessing, and hydraulic systems. The position requires a minimum of four years of aircraft assembly experience and the ability to build and install structural components in accordance with engineering drawings and blueprints.
Responsibilities
  • Perform complex assembly and fitting of detailed parts and structures, including drilling and riveting operations, with minimal to no direct supervision while ensuring all parts and assemblies meet or exceed requirements.
  • Execute routine build tasks and complete assignments within defined parameters and timeframes as set by leadership, maintaining 100% accuracy whenever possible.
  • Complete frequent special assignments and complex repairs, recommending solutions to a variety of problems with sophisticated scope and complexity.
  • Collaborate with associates in other functional areas to resolve stopwork issues, participate in continuous improvement projects, and help establish bestpractice methodologies.
  • Participate in mentoring activities and train other team members to perform assembly and related tasks effectively and safely.
  • Proactively keep supervisors and leads informed of task and assignment status, including any issues, delays, or resource needs.
  • Maintain a clean, organized work area and actively support the 5S program (Sort, Systematize, Shine, Standardize, Sustain), including guiding others on proper workplace maintenance.
  • Participate in and satisfactorily complete internal certification eligibility requirements for aircraft process specifications and consistently meet recurrent training expectations.
  • Perform sealant application, fastener installation, electrical harnessing, and hydraulic component installation within established manufacturing processes.
  • Build and install structural components according to engineering drawings and blueprint requirements, following the planned sequence of operations and process specifications.
  • Use appropriate hand tools and sheet metal techniques, including riveting and countersinking, to assemble structures to required quality standards.
  • Work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner, adhering to all safety procedures and company policies.
  • Support customer interactions as needed, demonstrating professionalism and technical knowledge when working directly with external stakeholders.
Required Skills & Qualifications
  • Minimum of 2 years of aircraft assembly and/or aircraft structural maintenane experience, including structural assembly and fitting of detailed parts.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform complex drilling, riveting, and structural assembly operations with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to read and interpret work orders, blueprints, and process specifications to follow the correct sequence of planned operations.
  • Proficiency in using arithmetic and measuring instruments to verify dimensions and tolerances.
  • Experience applying sealants and installing fasteners, electrical harnesses, and hydraulic components within a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong teamwork skills and a solid work ethic, with the ability to collaborate across functional areas.
  • Capability to work in a constant state of alertness and maintain safe work practices at all times.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and take ownership of assigned tasks from start to completion.
  • Willingness and ability to work overtime, respond to callin and callback situations, and perform oncall duty when requested by management.

Work Environment
This role is based in a manufacturing facility dedicated to the development, production, and sustainment of advanced light business jets. The standard work schedule runs Monday through Thursday from 5:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., with the potential for overtime, callin, callback, and oncall duty as needed. Work is performed on the shop floor around aircraft structures and components, using hand tools, sheet metal equipment, drilling and riveting tools, and various assembly fixtures. The environment emphasizes safety, cleanliness, and organization, supported by a robust 5S program. Team members operate in a fastpaced setting that requires constant alertness, adherence to safety procedures, and collaboration with colleagues across multiple functional areas.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Greensboro, NC.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $24.04 - $32.86/hr.
