Tax Manager

Mariette, OH or Greater Wheeling, WV | hybrid

This is an opportunity to work closely with business owners and other clients across a variety of tax matters, with exposure to tax planning, compliance, research, and advisory services. You’ll have the opportunity to take ownership of client relationships, work through complex tax issues, and play an important role in the development of less-experienced team members.

The ideal candidate is someone who enjoys combining technical tax expertise with client service and leadership, and who is ready to continue growing professionally.

What You’ll Do

* Serve as a primary point of contact for assigned tax clients and build strong, long-term relationships.

* Advise clients on a broad range of tax matters, including planning, research, compliance, and general business activities.

* Manage federal and state tax compliance engagements and coordinate client needs throughout the engagement process.

* Prepare and review complex individual and business tax returns, providing thoughtful analysis and identifying opportunities for tax planning.

* Research complex tax issues and communicate recommendations and conclusions clearly to clients and internal team members.

* Work across multiple engagements while balancing deadlines, priorities, and client expectations.

* Stay current on changes in tax law, regulations, and industry practices.

* Help team members understand expectations, develop their technical skills, and identify opportunities for career growth.

What We’re Looking For

* Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

* 4+ years of relevant tax experience.

* 1+ years of management, supervisory, or mentoring experience preferred.

* CPA or EA designation, or actively working toward one.

* Strong knowledge of federal and state tax laws and general accounting principles.

* Familiarity with FASB and Internal Revenue Code requirements.

* Ability to explain complex tax concepts in a clear, approachable way.

* Proficiency with Microsoft Office and tax/accounting software.
