Farm Monitoring Technician I

Job Overview We are seeking a GP Farm Monitoring Technician located in Sallisaw, OK. The role involves health monitoring on farms and ensuring compliance with biosecurity and animal welfare procedures. Responsibilities Follow all biosecurity and animal welfare procedures during work duties. Shower in and out of all facilities and visit farms in the proper order. Ensure the accuracy of samples taken; verify the flock number each time you enter a house. Collect blood and environmental samples as scheduled by the supervisor. Clean, wash, and disinfect the vehicle daily. Perform clean-out sampling as needed. Work independently in a time‑efficient manner. Handle farm samples while maintaining sample integrity and lab safety. Remain cognizant of surroundings, task at hand, aberrant results, potential contamination, and general data‑collecting practices. Adhere to a strict 72‑hour quarantine period after contact with non‑Aviagen avian species. Perform repetitive bending, lifting, kneeling, standing, walking, and contact with live animals as required. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. Comfortable with the use of technology. Ability to communicate orally, in writing, and via email, and to read and write in English. Apply common sense to accomplish daily and weekly goals and adapt to changing testing needs requested by supervisors. Self‑motivated with the ability to perform tasks accurately and efficiently. Authorized to work in the United States of America. Successfully pass a background check and drug screening prior to employment. Conditions and Safety Cannot own or house any wild or domesticated avian species. Must maintain strict compliance with bio‑security protocols.
