About the Job
Personnel Services Unlimited is hiring an Energy Assistance Intake Specialist for a temporary seasonal assignment with a local government agency in Rutherfordton, NC.
This position supports an assistance program by interviewing applicants, reviewing required documents, and helping determine program eligibility. The ideal candidate will have strong customer service, communication, and administrative skills.
What You’ll Do
- Interview applicants and gather information needed to determine eligibility for energy assistance
- Collect and review financial records, energy bills, and other required documentation
- Enter, update, and maintain accurate applicant information in the appropriate database
- Explain program requirements and provide information about other available assistance resources
- Protect confidential information and provide respectful service to individuals from diverse backgrounds
What We’re Looking For
- High school diploma or GED required
- At least one year of customer service, administrative, intake, or office experience
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and Outlook
- Strong communication, organization, and data-entry skills
- Professional, compassionate, and comfortable working directly with the public
- Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information appropriately
