Project Manager – Commercial Construction

Location: Houston, TX

Compensation: Competitive Base Salary + Bonus + Benefits

Overview

A reputable commercial general contractor is actively seeking an experienced Project Manager to support a growing pipeline of work throughout the Houston market. This individual will oversee the full lifecycle of commercial construction projects from preconstruction through closeout while serving as a key point of contact for clients, subcontractors, and internal operations teams.

This opportunity offers exposure to a strong backlog of K-12, higher education, healthcare, and industrial projects with a well-established contractor that continues to expand throughout the Texas market.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage projects from preconstruction through final completion
• Develop and maintain project budgets, schedules, and cost controls
• Oversee subcontractor buyout, scope review, and contract execution
• Coordinate closely with Superintendents to align field and office operations
• Lead owner meetings and maintain strong client relationships
• Review drawings, RFIs, submittals, ASIs, and change orders
• Track project progress and proactively identify and mitigate risks
• Ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, and within budget
• Assist with procurement of long-lead materials and subcontractor coordination
• Support project forecasting, reporting, and closeout documentation

Project Experience (Required)

Candidates should have experience managing commercial construction projects $10M+ in value, including a combination of:

• K-12 Education Projects
• Higher Education / University Projects
• Healthcare Projects (Hospitals, MOBs, Clinics, Renovations in Active Environments)
• Industrial / Manufacturing Facilities
• Ground-Up Commercial Construction Projects
• Renovations and Tenant Improvement Projects

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience as a Project Manager within commercial construction
• Proven experience managing projects $10M+ in value
• Strong understanding of commercial construction operations and project execution
• Experience with budgeting, scheduling, subcontractor management, and client relations
• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously
• Strong communication and leadership skills
• Proficiency in Procore, Bluebeam, Microsoft Office, and scheduling software preferred
• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or related field preferred
