Solvent Process Operator I

Overview Clean Harbors in Linden, NJ is an environmentally friendly solvent recycler looking to add Solvent Process Operators to their team. These operators will learn to complete tasks such as distillation, filtration, and blending within units at the facility. Ability to obtain a boiler license is a plus. Knowledge about distillations follows SOP. Workers must comply with emissions and be safety minded. Shift and Schedule Shift: Alternating (2 wks. on Days, 2 wks. on Nights / 3/2 split schedule 6am-6pm & 6pm-6am) Mon – Friday (Some Sat. depending on workflow) Pay: $24 w/$1.75 SD added while on night shift Benefits Health and Safety is our #1 priority, and we live it 3-6-5! Responsibilities Ensuring that Health and Safety is the number one priority by complying with all safe work practices, policies, processes and acting in a safe manner at all times. Offload inbound tankers and perform distillation instructed by the laboratory. Sample trucks for laboratory analysis. Complete daily checklist as required for proper operation of the distillation units. Ensure unit maintenance duties are performed and communicate any problems or issues immediately. Never operate distillation units in an unsafe manner or inconsistent with SOP. Ensure processing units operate according to guidelines and process specifications. Decant material pumping off excess sludge; perform washout of still between batches to prevent cross‑contamination. Review SOPs and score satisfactorily on quizzes. Complete and submit paperwork for waste tracking movements and scan applications. Ensure work meets all applicable health and safety SOPs. Understand and own area‑specific permit compliance standards. Maintain a clean work environment. Maintain accurate logs/run sheets. Monitor tank levels during process using gauges and PLC monitoring equipment, checking high‑level alarms and pumps. Understand Clean Compliance Standard. Perform other duties and tasks as assigned by management. Qualifications High School diploma or equivalent required. Must be 18 years or older. 1+ years of related experience.
