Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a high-volume, Level 1 Trauma Emergency Department serving patients ranging from newborns to elderly with a wide variety of acuity levels
• Manage and titrate a broad range of critical drips including vasopressors, cardiac drips, and antihypertensive medications
• Interpret cardiac monitor rhythms and recognize life-threatening arrhythmias; Philips monitoring systems in use
• Perform and assist with lab draws alongside ED techs
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including attendings, charge nurses, ED techs, respiratory therapists, and a 24/7 house supervisor
• Adhere to a drug-free campus policy; negative drug screen required for all panels prior to start

Required Qualifications

• Active Illinois RN license (or confirmation that the application process has been initiated)
• BLS certification required
• ACLS certification required
• ENPC or PALS certification required
• TNCC or TNS certification required
• Must live more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for standard contract rates

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Minimum 2 years of RN experience with at least 1 prior travel assignment strongly preferred
• SANE RN experience preferred
• Experience working in a teaching hospital with residents preferred
• Proficiency with vasopressor drip titration and management of critically ill patients
