Description
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Dermatologist is responsible for diagnosing and treating various skin, hair, and nail conditions. The Dermatologist assesses patient symptoms, conduct skin examinations, and use diagnostic tools, such as biopsies, to identify issues ranging from common skin problems, like acne and eczema, to more severe conditions, including skin cancer. The Dermatologist also perform minor surgical procedures, administer cosmetic treatments, and prescribe medications tailored to each patient's needs. Additionally, the Dermatologist educate patients on skincare, preventive measures, and post-treatment care. The Dermatologist's duties include maintaining detailed medical records and collaborating with other healthcare professionals for comprehensive patient care.

- Conduct skin exams to evaluate, diagnose, and treat various skin conditions.
- Take detailed patient histories and document symptoms related to skin, hair, and nails.
- Utilize diagnostic techniques like biopsies, patch testing, or blood tests to identify conditions.
- Develop individualized treatment plans for skin conditions such as acne, eczema, psoriasis, and skin cancer.
- Prescribe medication, topical treatments, or procedures (e.g., cryotherapy, laser therapy).
- Perform minor surgeries, such as removing moles, cysts, and warts.
- Educate patients on skincare routines, sun protection, and other preventative measures.
- Counsel patients on lifestyle changes that may improve their skin condition, like dietary modifications or stress management.
- Maintain detailed patient records, including examination results, diagnoses, treatments, and follow-ups.
- Ensure patient privacy and confidentiality in accordance with medical ethics and legal standards.
- Work with other healthcare professionals, such as general practitioners, oncologists, and plastic surgeons as necessary for care
- Refer patients to other specialists when conditions fall outside dermatological expertise.
- Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and clinic policies.
- Conduct follow-up visits to monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary.
- Provide guidance on post-treatment care, potential side effects, and signs of complications.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management
Qualifications

- EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- A medical degree from an accredited medical school or equivalent
- Completion of a dermatology residency program or equivalent
- Board Certification in Dermatology
- Active Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) certification
- SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE
- Proficiency in conducting physical exams, diagnosing illnesses, and performing medical procedures.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for interacting with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking abilities to diagnose and treat patients effectively.
- Ability to build rapport with patients and work collaboratively with healthcare professionals.
- Efficient time management skills to handle a busy and varied caseload.
- Ability to provide empathetic and compassionate care to patients of all ages.
- Effective problem-solving skills to address complex patient needs and healthcare challenges.
- Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) and other healthcare technology.
- In-depth understanding of anatomy, physiology, pharmacology, and pathophysiology.
- Comprehensive knowledge of primary care practices, including preventive care, chronic disease management, and health promotion.
- Expertise in managing health issues among pediatrics patients
- Knowledge of healthcare regulations, patient privacy laws (e.g., HIPAA), and ethical standards.
- Familiarity with evidence-based clinical guidelines and best practices.
- Understanding of public health principles and community health issues.
- Detailed knowledge of medications, including indications, contraindications, side effects, and interactions.
- Proficiency in ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests and imaging studies.
- Knowledge of effective patient education techniques and resources.
- Understanding of health informatics and the use of technology in healthcare to improve patient outcomes.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT
The work environment is characteristic of a clinic environment. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, use hands to handle or feel. The employee is also required to stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus. The employee must also possess hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the phone. The noise level in the work environment is usually noisy.
The employee may be in contact with individuals and families in crisis who may be ill, using substances and/or not attentive to personal health and safety for themselves or their homes. The employee may experience a number of unpleasant sensory demands associated with the client's use of alcohol and drugs, and the lack of personal care.
