Quality InspectorThe Quality Inspector will report to the site Quality Manager or Quality Field Operations Manager as applicable, and indirectly to the Sr. Manager of Quality Control, and will be responsible for conducting and documenting inspections in accordance with approved Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs). Quality Inspectors will ensure all reports are being documented accurately, legibly, and traceable to their locations in the field with minimal error in reporting. Quality Inspectors will be required to effectively communicate and develop positive working relationships with the owner, owner's representative, and the Company's site supervision, in order to facilitate the quality objectives. TRAVEL: Travel required up to 100%. Position requires presence directly on the Project Site location in Boise, ID.MasTec Industrial, alongside its sister companies Casey Industrial and Phoenix Industrial, has been in operation since 1947. With over 35,000 employees and 400 offices nationwide, we provide flexibility and career growth in dynamic work environments.ResponsibilitiesESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:Familiarity with a broad range of general construction processes and nomenclature including testing laboratory protocols and procedures, soils and concrete testing, asphalt paving, structural steel, mechanical, welding and general construction observations.Methodical and detail-oriented to assist the project team in assuring that Project QC documentation is complete and procedures are followed to ensure issues are closed and project risk is mitigated.Ability to read and understand construction plans and specifications including identification of errors, contradictions or redundancies for resolution by others.Conduct regularly scheduled QA/QC meetings, review logs of Deficiencies, Punch List, and other items required and maintain documentation and meeting minutes within job folderPrepare reports on inspection activitiesScheduling of inspection activities in conjunction with various local, state, governmental agencies and 3rd party testing.Understand and be able to identify difference between Project Specifications and Standard Codes and when project specific requirements do not meet minimum codes, administer appropriate expectations of codes as necessary to protect MasTec Industrial interests.Consult with Director of Quality when encounter issues or concerns beyond level of expertise.Knowledge of applicable codes and standardsMaintain a professional attitude and appearanceOther duties as assignedStay up-to-date on job related certificationsQualificationsEDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:Minimum of 1 year of experience in a QA/QC role. Education towards an engineering or technical degree may be substituted in lieu of required work experience.Minimum of 5 years required in a construction environment.Training and practical knowledge of construction tradesExtreme proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Excel, Word, SharePoint, Teams, and Power PointDemonstrated experience with construction management software platformsProven capabilities with Bluebeam RevuPreferred experience with Smartsheet and InEight softwareKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:Be knowledgeable of MIC Health and Safety programs and project specific regulations.Write reports, business correspondence and document quality related issues and activitiesEffectively present information and respond to questions from project managers, superintendents, clients, customers and the general publicEffectively communicate and develop positive working relationships with the owner, owner's representative, and the Company's site supervision, in order to facilitate the quality objectivesWork independently and productively, ensuring the resources assigned to the project are adequate and properly trained for the taskBe self-motivated and capable of taking initiativeApply critical thinking skills to establish effective corrective actions for causal factors of quality incidentsPossess diplomatic skills for addressing Quality and Safety issues with both internal and external partiesExcellent verbal, written and interpersonal skillsOther may duties may be assignedPHYSICAL DEMANDS:Work up to a 12-hour shift doing hard physical work in varying temperatures and outside conditions.May need to maintain physical strength and stamina; Use arms, hands, and legs fully; Push, pull, and frequently lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds; and stoop, kneel, balance, crouch, crawl, and climb to perform job tasks.Stamina to perform this task repetitively and continuously for several hour intervals.Uncontrolled environmental conditions: Constant change in weather and site conditions. This work environment may involve moderate exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors and/or loud noises.Ability to wear personal protective equipment is required (including but not limited to- safety toed shoes, gloves, safety glasses, hearing protection, hardhat, vest, etc.).Move in and around confined, cluttered, and uneven areas.May need to work at heights and must be able to abide by all safety and fall-protection requirements; must be able to wear and utilize all safety equipment required for work at heights.Evaluate information based on measurable standards; and see details in objects or drawings and recognize slight differences in shapes and shadings.Visualize objects in three dimensions from drawings.Keep good balance and work at heights.See well (either naturally or with correction).Hear well (either naturally or with correction.)Next Coordinate the use of eyes, hands, and feet.HoursThis position is a Full-Time position scheduled to work typically 50 hours per week.
