Position : American Sign Language (ASL) Interpreter

Location: Charleston, SC

Schedule: 7am-3pm

Duration : 8 month contract with extensions

Pay: $35-$42/hr

Insight Global is seeking a dedicated American Sign Language (ASL) Interpreter to support deaf and hard-of-hearing students within a K-12 educational environment. In this role, you will help ensure students have full access to classroom instruction, school activities, and meaningful interactions with teachers, staff, and peers.

Responsibilities

• Provide accurate ASL interpretation during classroom instruction and school activities.
• Facilitate communication between students, teachers, staff, and peers.
• Interpret lessons, discussions, presentations, and educational content in real time.
• Support students throughout the school day while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.
• Collaborate with teachers, special education staff, and administrators to promote effective communication.
• Assist with student participation in academic and extracurricular activities.
• Follow school district policies and professional interpreting standards.

Required Qualifications

• Completion of a two-year interpreter training program OR minimum of two years of experience working with deaf and hard-of-hearing students.
• Verifiable American Sign Language (ASL) proficiency.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively within a school-based team environment.
• Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.
