Family Law Attorney

Job Description

We are looking for an accomplished family law attorney who wants to continue practicing at a high level while also taking on meaningful leadership responsibility and building toward a genuine long-term path to equity ownership .

The attorney will initially serve as a Senior Family Law Attorney , independently managing complex Washington family law matters while working closely with attorneys, paralegals, legal assistants, and firm leadership.

\n

\n

Over time, the successful candidate will be expected to take on increasing responsibility in areas such as team leadership, mentoring, supervision, business judgment, and firm management.

\n

For the right attorney, sustained strong performance is intended to lead to consideration for equity ownership and a significant long-term role in the future leadership and succession of the firm.

\n

\n

Ownership is not immediate or guaranteed. Any future equity opportunity would depend on demonstrated legal ability, reliability, productivity, leadership, business judgment, contribution to the firm, and mutual confidence in a long-term ownership relationship.

Key Responsibilities

\n

\n
• Independently manage sophisticated Washington family law matters.
\n
• Handle divorce/dissolution, parenting plans, child support, maintenance, property division, enforcement, and related matters.
\n
• Represent clients in hearings, contested proceedings, negotiations, mediations, and trials.
\n
• Develop case strategy and provide high-quality legal counsel.
\n
• Maintain strong client communication and service.
\n
• Work closely with and supervise paralegals and legal assistants.
\n
• Mentor attorneys and contribute to team development.
\n
• Participate in firm leadership, management, and operational decision-making.
\n
• Support the long-term growth and success of the practice.

Qualifications

\n

We are particularly interested in attorneys who:

• Have substantial Washington family law experience .
\n
• Are licensed and in good standing with the Washington State Bar .
\n
• Can independently manage complex family law matters from start to finish.
\n
• Are comfortable in court and experienced with contested proceedings.
\n
• Demonstrate strong professional judgment and client service.
\n
• Are organized, dependable, and responsive.
\n
• Have experience working with or supervising legal support staff.
\n
• Are interested in mentoring attorneys and contributing to firm leadership.
\n
• Understand both the legal and business sides of running a successful practice.
\n
• Are looking for a long-term professional home and want to help shape the future of the firm.
