Senior Tester

Hardware R&D Laboratory Technician

Perform delicate rework of printed circuit boards; Build prototype circuits, cable harnesses and assemblies; Modify existing or prototype devices and hardware products; Capture test data and enter into spreadsheet; and Set up and maintain laboratory space, tools and materials of a hardware R&D laboratory.

Set up tests and equipment to perform tests and measurements of industry standard buses and interfaces; Capture and maintain test data; Debug issues relating to hardware, test set up, firmware and software; Install, test, repair and validation of new and existing hardware; and Set up and maintain lab space, tools and materials of a hardware R&D laboratory.

Provide engineering test support; Set up tests and equipment to perform validation, verification and characterization of servers, networking devices and racking units; Analyze and prepare test results using spreadsheets and Python scripts to generate reports; and Set up and maintain laboratory space, tools and the materials of a hardware R&D laboratory.

Set up bench networks, administering configurations in support of engineering test and measurements; Configure and administer Windows, Linux and specialist personal computers to sustain laboratory tests and test data; Debug issues relating to hardware, test set ups, firmware and software; Install, test, repair, and validation of new and existing hardware; and Set up and maintain laboratory space, tools and consumable materials of a hardware R&D laboratory.

Perform Linux Systems administrative tasks for laboratory services and infrastructure; Determine network requirements for new and existing laboratory, propose solutions, and implement agreed upon designs; Debug network issues, including hosts, switches, routers, and the mediums used; Develop tools to facilitate faster deployment, management and monitoring of laboratory networks Document processes and procedures.

Install and configure network level equipment in a data center style test environment (rack and stack); Review project needs and requirements for specific test beds; Ensure machine connectivity and availability (machine repairs) remains below an acceptable threshold; Perform any testing, documentation or validation as directed to support project needs; and Document processes and procedures.
