Responsibilities Responsibilities * Perform quantitative and qualitative medical record reviews * Communicate with physicians regarding incomplete medical records and follow up to ensure timely completion in accordance with regulatory standards * Accurately scan and index records according to policy * Communicate effectively with hospital leaders, physicians, and clinicians to ensure proper record maintenance and timely resolution of issues * Process release of information requests in compliance with departmental, state, and federal requirements * Abstract clinical and quality data from medical records for internal and external reporting needs * Assist leadership with timely data collection and submission, including CMS reporting requirements * Maintain patient confidentiality at all times * Meet annual goals and complete other duties as assigned Qualifications Qualifications Minimum Requirements * High school diploma * Two (2) years of experience in a Health Information department within a healthcare facility * Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to prioritize * Demonstrated problem‑solving skills, urgency, and respect for confidentiality * Experience with Epic or other EMRs and database systems * Ability to communicate professionally with hospital staff, clinicians, and external partners * Customer‑service mindset with a collaborative approach * Ability to adapt to changing workload and workflow demands * Proven ability to work independently with minimal supervision Preferred Qualifications * Associate's degree in Health Information Technology or related healthcare field * RHIT or RHIA certification * Working knowledge of HIPAA and Joint Commission standards Additional Data Why Select Medical?
