Chipton-Ross is seeking an Electrical Engineer 1 for a contract opportunity in Avondale, LA.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE)

• Bachelor of Electrical Engineering from an ABET school with 0-2 years of engineering experience.
• A qualified candidate should be proficient in Microsoft Office applications and AutoCAD.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

Candidate will be responsible for establishing, overseeing, and managing all activities related to Combat Electrical shipboard systems. Candidate will perform the following: Research, development, and design of electrical components, equipment, systems, and networks in accordance with all contractual requirements, military and commercial specifications; initiate procurement specifications; review and approve vendor proposals; review, comment on, adjudicate and approve vendor furnished information for translation into construction products; interface with vendors and Navy technical representatives; support vendor design reviews and testing; develop drawings and other documents IAW Mil-Specs and contract drawings; interface with other disciplines and departments to ensure a seamless integration of assigned systems into the shipboard environment; address and resolve technical issues, and make decisions on problems in his/her area of responsibility; support shipbuilding production department as required.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (DESIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE)

• Previous shipbuilding experience is highly desired.

REQUIRED EDUCATION

Bachelor of Electrical Engineering from an ABET school is required.

School must be accredited.

WORK HOURS

5/40, workweek.

1st, 2nd, 3rd shift.

• Employment will be contingent on clearing a drug screen and background check. Both must clear prior to start date.
