The Role: We are seeking a Senior Technical Product Manager to own and evolve core platform and API capabilities that underpin our products and partner integrations. This role sits at the intersection of engineering, platform stakeholders, and downstream product teams, with primary responsibility for defining platform requirements, shaping API strategy, and ensuring our APIs scale reliably as usage and consumer demand grow. The ideal candidate is deeply technical, API‑literate, and comfortable working hands‑on with engineers to define roadmaps, requirements, and operating metrics. They understand how APIs are designed, documented, consumed, and governed, and they can translate diverse consumer needs into a coherent, prioritized platform strategy.Location: This role requires 2-3 days a week in office in Soho, NYResponsibilities:Platform & API Product LeadershipOwn the product vision and roadmap for core platform APIs and services, ensuring alignment with company strategy, engineering capacity, and partner needs.Define and evolve API strategies that support current consumers while anticipating future scale, growth, and extensibility.Lead quarterly and multi-year roadmap planning, balancing reliability, performance, developer experience, and delivery velocity.API Requirements & DocumentationDefine clear, testable API product requirements in partnership with engineering, including:Functional behaviorPerformance expectationsBackward compatibility standardsEnsure API documentation is accurate, complete, and usable for both internal and external consumers.Participate in API design reviews, contributing to:Endpoint designNaming conventionsData contractsReliability, Scale & MetricsPartner with engineering to define and track:SLAs (Service Level Agreements)SLOs (Service Level Objectives)Operational KPIsForecast and monitor API consumer growth, including:Call volumesUsage patterns (MoM, QoQ)Identify scaling risks early and drive proactive product decisions.Stakeholder & Consumer EnablementServe as the primary product interface for API consumers:Internal product teamsPartnersExternal integratorsGather and prioritize consumer needs based on real usage patterns.Clearly communicate platform decisions, tradeoffs, and roadmap updates to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.Technical Execution & CollaborationPartner closely with engineering, grounding decisions in:System designData modelsTechnical constraintsActively engage with APIs using tools like Postman or curl to:Validate functionalitySupport troubleshootingImprove user experienceContribute to domain modeling, including:Entity relationshipsData ownership boundariesQualifications:6+ years of product management experience, with strong ownership of technical platform or API-driven productsProven experience managing API roadmaps in production environmentsHands-on experience with:API requirements definitionDocumentation reviewAPI design tradeoffsExperience defining and operationalizing SLAs, SLOs, and reliability metricsAbility to forecast and manage API usage growth and scaling considerationsExperience working with diverse API consumer personas and prioritizing competing needsFamiliarity with API tools (e.g., Postman, curl)Strong understanding of:Domain modelingEntity relationshipsData contractsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsPreferred Skills (Nice-to-Have)Experience with regulated platforms (e.g., fintech, financial services, data-sensitive systems)Experience working with:Platform infrastructureIdentity and security systemsData services teamsFor residents of New York, NY the annual salary range for this role is $169,000-$205,000 annual bonus.
