Avionics Technician

The Avionics Technician performs maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting on a variety of corporate business jets, ensuring all work complies with aircraft manufacturers' specifications, FAA regulations, and established company policies and procedures. This role focuses on diagnosing and resolving electrical malfunctions in avionics systems and completing high-quality installations and repairs on complex aircraft electrical and wiring systems.

Responsibilities:

• Perform maintenance and repair on a variety of corporate business jets in full compliance with aircraft manufacturers' guidelines, FAA regulations, and internal policies and procedures.
• Troubleshoot electrical malfunctions and failures on aircraft avionics systems, identifying root causes and implementing effective corrective actions.
• Install, repair, and service avionics equipment and related electrical systems, ensuring proper functionality, reliability, and safety.
• Work with wire harnesses, including installation, routing, termination, and repair, following appropriate standards and documentation.
• Conduct detailed electrical and avionics system inspections to verify airworthiness and adherence to regulatory and quality standards.
• Use test equipment and diagnostic tools to evaluate avionics and electrical systems performance and to support accurate troubleshooting.
• Document all maintenance, repair, and installation activities clearly and accurately in accordance with regulatory and company requirements.
• Collaborate with other technicians and departments to coordinate work, share technical information, and support efficient aircraft turn times.
• Apply manufacturer service bulletins, technical manuals, and FAA directives when performing maintenance and modifications.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area within the hangar environment, following all safety procedures and guidelines.

Essential Skills:

• 24 years of experience working on corporate jets at a technician level II or equivalent.
• Hands-on experience troubleshooting avionics systems and resolving electrical malfunctions on aircraft.
• Proficiency in installing, repairing, and maintaining aircraft electrical systems and avionics components.
• Experience working with wire harnesses, including installation, repair, and troubleshooting.
• Background in corporate business jet maintenance and avionics support.
• Ability to interpret and apply FAA regulations, manufacturer maintenance manuals, and technical documentation.
• Strong electrical troubleshooting skills, including use of appropriate test equipment and diagnostic methods.
• Attention to detail and commitment to performing maintenance in compliance with safety and regulatory standards.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

• Experience with Gulfstream aircraft is highly beneficial.
• FCC license related to avionics or communications equipment is an asset.
• A&P (Airframe and Powerplant) license is a strong plus.
• Ability to work overtime when offered to support operational needs.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills to collaborate effectively in a hangar environment.
• Ability to follow structured policies, procedures, and documentation requirements.

Work Environment:

This role is based in a hangar environment working on corporate business jets. Standard hours of operation are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with overtime offered as needed to support aircraft schedules and operational demands. You work around active aircraft maintenance activities, using professional tools and equipment appropriate for avionics and electrical troubleshooting, installation, and repair. The setting emphasizes safety, organization, and adherence to aviation maintenance procedures, providing a structured and professional workplace focused on quality and regulatory compliance.

Job Type & Location:

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Fort Lauderdale, FL.

Pay and Benefits:

The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $42.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
