Lab Technician

Pay: $17-23/hour

Shift: Monday- Friday 11:30pm-7:30pm

Position Summary

We are seeking a Lab Technician to support daily laboratory operations in a fast-paced, detail-oriented environment. This position is responsible for sample handling and preparation, maintaining laboratory supplies and equipment, completing required documentation, and ensuring work is performed accurately and in accordance with established quality standards and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

Key Responsibilities

• Retrieve samples from Sample Control for analysis.
• Perform routine sample preparation activities, which may include:
• • Aliquoting samples
  • Spiking and tracing samples
  • Preparing reagents
  • Bottling samples
  • Preparing sample concentrations
  • Sample separation and sonication
  • Setting up liquid racks
• Verify sample identification and resolve labeling discrepancies or anomalies.
• Complete laboratory documentation, including analysis results, sample tracking records, bench sheets, and laboratory logbooks.
• Maintain clean and organized laboratory work areas and supply storage areas.
• Wash and prepare laboratory glassware for upcoming sample work.
• Monitor and replenish laboratory supplies as needed.
• Support general laboratory maintenance and day-to-day operational activities.
• Follow applicable SOPs, quality assurance procedures, safety requirements, and laboratory protocols.
• Work collaboratively with team members to maintain an efficient and productive laboratory environment.

Qualifications & Skills

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 2–4 years of relevant work experience preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to consistently follow established procedures.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage time effectively.
• Ability to accurately document, record, and review information.
• Basic understanding of laboratory testing concepts and techniques is helpful but not required.
• Comfortable performing repetitive, hands-on tasks while maintaining accuracy and quality.
• Dependable, motivated, and willing to learn.
