Bus Mechanic / Diesel Technician

Columbus, OH | $30–$40+/hr DOE | 1st Shift | Monday–Friday

Work on good equipment. Take your time and fix it right.

We’re looking for a Diesel Mechanic / Bus Mechanic to join a Columbus fleet shop working on Prevost motorcoaches with a heavy mix of Volvo equipment .

You’ll handle PMs, inspections, brakes, suspension, electrical, emissions, A/C, and general diesel repairs that keep the fleet safe and rolling.

No in-frame engine work. Engine repairs are primarily bolt-ons like water pumps, turbos, and other components.

What You’ll Be Doing

• PMs, inspections, and preventive maintenance
• Diagnose and repair diesel and electrical issues
• Diagnose and repair A/C and HVAC systems
• Troubleshoot emissions systems
• Brakes, suspension, steering, cooling systems, and chassis repairs
• Allison transmission maintenance and repairs
• Bolt-on engine repairs such as water pumps, turbos, etc.
• Get coaches diagnosed, repaired, and back on the road

What We’re Looking For

• Diesel/heavy-duty mechanic experience
• Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills
• Solid electrical experience
• Strong A/C experience is a major plus
• Experience with emissions systems
• Bus or motorcoach experience is preferred, but not required
• Truck, trailer, reefer, or heavy-duty fleet experience can translate very well
• Prevost, Volvo, Allison, or similar experience is a plus
• Own your tools
• CDL is a plus, with higher pay available for the right CDL holder

Pay & Schedule

• $30–$40+/hr , depending on experience
• Flexibility above $40/hr for exceptional experience
• Higher pay potential for CDL holders
• Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM
• Full-time, primarily 40 hours/week
