Position Summary

\n

Based in either the Houston, TX or Reston, VA office, the Corporate Expediting Manager provides enterprise-wide functional leadership and strategic direction for expediting activities across the Company’s Global Business Units (GBUs).

\n

\n

The role focuses on strengthening supplier performance, improving delivery predictability, mitigating supply-related schedule risks, and influencing business decisions that support successful project execution. The Corporate Expediting Manager establishes and promotes consistent expediting practices, standards, processes, and performance expectations in alignment with Supplier Quality & Expediting (SQE), GBU, and project procedures.

A. Supervision Received

\n

\n
• Receives operational direction and strategic guidance regarding expediting strategies from the SQE Vice President and Corporate Manager of Supplier Quality and Expediting.
\n
• Receives functional guidance from the SQE Corporate Operations Manager and, as applicable, SQE Regional Managers.
\n
• Works collaboratively with corporate and GBU leadership to establish priorities, address delivery risks, and drive continuous improvement in expediting performance.
\n

B. Supervision Exercised

\n

\n
• Provides functional leadership, direction, and guidance to Project Expediting (PEX) and Area Expediting (AEX) teams.
\n
• Provides project-related guidance and support to expediting personnel to ensure consistent execution of corporate standards and project requirements.
\n
• Supports the development of expediting capabilities, competencies, and best practices across the organization.
\n

• Other internal and external stakeholders as required to improve supplier performance, delivery assurance, and project schedule outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

• Enterprise Functional Leadership: Establishes corporate direction, standards, expectations, and best practices for expediting activities across GBUs and projects.
\n
• Supplier Performance Management: Leverages expediting activities to strengthen supplier accountability, improve delivery discipline, and drive effective recovery plans.
\n
• Delivery Risk Management: Proactively identifies potential schedule threats, emerging supplier performance issues, and late-delivery trends, driving early intervention to minimize project impacts.
\n
• Data-Driven Decision Making: Translates supplier performance data, workload forecasts, dashboards, and expediting metrics into actionable business insights and recommendations.
\n
• Cross-Functional Alignment: Facilitates collaboration among Procurement, Supplier Quality, Logistics, Project Controls, Engineering, Construction, and project teams to achieve shared delivery objectives.
\n
• Project Supplier Quality & Expediting Alignment: Strengthens coordination between project expediting and project supplier quality teams to improve efficiency, supplier performance, and delivery assurance.
\n
• Executive Communication and Influence: Communicates supplier risks, delivery priorities, performance trends, and recommended actions clearly and effectively to GBU and corporate leadership.
\n
• Resource and Capability Planning: Aligns AEX/PEX staffing, workload distribution, training, and competency development with project requirements, supplier risk, and business demand.
\n
• Governance and Process Discipline: Develops and maintains consistent expediting processes, escalation protocols, performance dashboards, reporting mechanisms, and accountability standards.
\n
• Recovery and Escalation Leadership: Provides leadership in developing supplier recovery strategies, prioritizing critical interventions, escalating significant issues, and supporting timely resolution and closure.
\n
• Commercial and Contractual Awareness: Applies an understanding of supplier commitments, purchase order requirements, contractual terms, project priorities, and commercial considerations to maximize delivery leverage and supplier accountability.
\n
• Continuous Improvement: Identifies opportunities to improve expediting processes, tools, reporting, and organizational effectiveness through data analysis, lessons learned, and industry best practices.
\n

Job Knowledge

\n

\n
• Comprehensive knowledge of major commodities and equipment typically procured for Energy, Mining & Metals, Manufacturing & Technology, Infrastructure, and Nuclear projects.
\n
• Strong understanding of applicable industry codes and standards, manufacturing processes, supplier capabilities, inspection requirements, and fabrication methods.
\n
• Extensive project expediting experience involving highly complex projects, systems, and equipment.
\n
• Demonstrated ability to develop detailed expediting plans for complete, complex, or uniquely engineered systems.
\n
• Experience developing comprehensive workload, resource, and budget estimates for large-scale projects and programs.
\n
• Proven ability to develop and implement corrective actions to address significant supplier performance issues and mitigate impacts to project cost and schedule.
\n
• Extensive experience providing functional guidance and leadership to PEX, AEX, Digital & Business Analytics professionals, and other technical and non-technical support personnel.
\n
• Strong understanding of project execution methodologies, including Pre-FEED, FEED, and EPC environments.
\n

Qualifications and Skills

\n

\n

Basic Qualifications

\n

\n
• Bachelor’s degree from a reputed University.
\n
• Minimum 15+ years of relevant industry experience in expediting, supply chain or other relevant management activities.
\n
• Lean Six Sigma Certification (by Bechtel / ASQ / IASSC / GAQM) preferred.
\n
• Expert computer skills including Power BI dashboard reporting, SQL, Minitab, SAS, Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Power Point).
\n
• Minimum 18+ Years of Relevant Work Experience
\n
• Extensive prior experience in expediting, supply chain, or other relevant management experience on Pre-FEED / FEED / EPC projects, recognized codes and standards, manufacturing methods.
\n
• Extensive experience in leadership roles, data analytics, budget estimation, writing technical procedures and problem solving.
\n
